Position Summary:
As an Integration Engineer, you own the technical integrations between EvidenceCare applications and customer data environments. An expert in healthcare interoperability standards, you will design, implement, and support a variety of technical integrations to ensure EvidenceCare customer domains can connect to and interact with the appropriate EvidenceCare applications. As a valued partner on the Product and Engineering teams, you will use your knowledge of EvidenceCare’s business and clinical objectives to identify opportunities for new strategic integrations with both customers and partners.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Leading the creation and implementation of new integrations to ensure the success of EvidenceCare and its customers
- Writing detailed technical requirements to ensure a new integration is well-defined and can be properly built by the Engineering team
- Writing internal reference documentation for integrations and healthcare interoperability standards
- Taking responsibility for successful delivery of new integrations, working closely with the Engineering Team to ensure features are implemented and integrations are completed
- Becoming an expert in the EvidenceCare service-based platform, its interactions with customer environments, and its connections to content and technical partners
- Being a resident EvidenceCare expert on healthcare interoperability, including HL7, FHIR, OAuth, and using EHR-vendor private APIs and proprietary technology
- Maintaining customer implementation guides and integration specifications
- Supporting new customer implementations, notably including troubleshooting sessions for integrated functionality
- Providing live customer support and troubleshooting issues for live customers
- Testing EvidenceCare applications in accordance with the sprint and deployment cycle
- Supporting customer testing and user acceptance testing
- Staying current with the latest healthcare interoperability standards, and ensuring EvidenceCare technology evolves with updates to the latest standards
- Identifying novel ways in which healthcare integrations can solve challenges for EvidenceCare and its customers
- Working collaboratively with a team of integration experts and partnering with Product and Engineering teams to build and support great clinical software
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Ideal candidates will have a degree in software engineering, information systems, computer science, biomedical engineering, or other related discipline
Experience:
- Proven experience implementing and integrating complex software
- Ability to understand a clinical user’s context and expected user experience
- Curiosity to understand customer challenges and identify issues requiring resolution
- Ability to consult application and infrastructure logs to identify issues
- Experience working with EHR/EMRs, practice management systems, and interface engines
- Experience writing SQL queries for data analysis and data quality review
- Familiarity with healthcare standards, especially HL7/FHIR, and healthcare code sets (e.g., LOINC, SNOMED, CPT, ICD-10)
- Understanding of API designs, web services, RESTful APIs, XML, and JSON
